Ten undergraduate scholarships are offered to students for undergraduate study in any subject offered by the University. The scholarships will be worth £1,000 per year and will be tenable for the duration of the programme of study.

Eligibility
The scholarships are competitive and will be awarded to citizens from Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the USA who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for an undergraduate programme of study.

The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit.

The scholarship is not available to students already on programme.

Applicants should have applied through UCAS, and should have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh by the scholarship closing date of 1 April 2009.

Selection Procedure
A University of Edinburgh Selection Committee will meet in early May 2009 to select the scholarship holders. The winners of the scholarship will be announced in late May 2009.
