<p>The purpose of the International Scholar Exchange Fellowship is to enhance international exchange and cooperation in order to promote academic advancement and mutual understanding among various cultural groups. To this end, the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies supports academically qualified scholars who wish to conduct advanced research at leading universities or research institutions in Korea.</p>

The program sponsors several types of scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students as well as for qualified professionals pursuing vocational studies.</p>
<p>Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships</p>
<p>The Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships are available to students for either three or six months of intensive language study and cultural immersion in another country. This award provides funds to cover round-trip transportation, language training expenses, and homestay living arrangements. Applications are considered for candidates interested in studying Arabic, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, and Swedish.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There is PhD studentship at the School of Mechanical Engineering <strong>Jeju National<br />
University, South Korea</strong> at Advanced Micro Mechatronics Lab (AMM LAB).</p>
<p><strong> Research Area</strong><br />
Research in the silicon industry is maturated considerably. Now Roll-to-Roll<br />
and inkjet printing technology are being utilized for developing cheaper and<br />
accurate digital devices. Our research group is carrying research in printed<br />
electronics which will be the preferred manufacturing process for solar cell,<br />
RFIDs, flexible panel systems, displays, and sensors in future.</p>
<p><span id="more-259"></span><br />
<strong> Research Area for PhD</strong><br />
Control of the printing mechanism and control of the substrate with respect to<br />
the printing parameters to print different types of electronic devices through<br />
Inkjet Printing System and Roll-to-Roll Printing System. Knowledge of the<br />
automation and controls is necessary.<br />
The fully funded studentship will cover fees, stipend and research costs, and<br />
are available to the eligible students.<br />
<strong> Requirement:</strong><br />
MS in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, systems and control, or a related<br />
field. The applicant should have good analytical and modeling skills as well as<br />
good communication skills.</p>
<p>The main criteria of selection is GPA (must be above 3.0). Beside GPA research<br />
proposal, resume and good communication skill in English (TOEFL or IELTS) will<br />
be considered.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In order to provide foreign students with more equal opportunities, the applying method for the ?Graduate Scholarship for Foreign Excellent Students Program? will be the same as the application process for foreign students and it will be available online at http://admission.snu.ac.kr.</p>
<p>This change will take place starting from the first semester in 2009. While the Office of International Affairs will deal with the overall program, the office in charge of registration will be the office of admissions.</p>
<p><em>For those who are interested in the ?Graduate Scholarship for Foreign Excellent Students Program? apply online by 18:00(Thursday) <strong>July 31st 2008</strong> and send the original documents to the office of admissions by 18:00(Friday) <strong>August 1st 2008</strong>.</em></p>
<p>We plan to place a notice about the eligible countries and universities, the number of students per major and information on financial support online by early July 2008. The online applicants will be filtered and categorized by their university of graduation. The final decision will be made by the screening committee.</p>

<strong>Research Background</strong><br />
Research in the silicon industry is maturated considerably. Now inkjet technology is being utilized for developing cheaper and accurate digital devices. Semiconductor giants like Samsung and Hynix are investing huge money in to the electronic printing system. Our research group is carrying research in printed electronics which will be the preferred manufacturing process for RFIDs, flexible panel systems, displays, and sensors in future.</p>
<p><strong>Research Area for PhD Studentship Material Science Engineer</strong><br />
Studying nano-materials, nano-physics and nano-device applications with respect to electrostatic inkjet printing. Study of the polymer based thin films, substrate property, chemical properties of ink and role of nano particles in electrostatic printing will be of main focus of research. Knowledge of laser technology for printing systems, curing method and emerging technologies in printed electronics will be of added advantage.</p>
<p><strong>Research Area for PhD Studentship Mechanical Engineer</strong><br />
Designing of multi-nozzle inkjet system for printed electronics which will include flow regulators, pumping system and control sensors. In addition to this the students is required to perform numerous experiments for the evaluation of proposed printing method. Strong background in controls and micro-fabrication is necessary.</p>
<p><strong>Research Area for PhD Studentship Electronics Engineer</strong><br />
Control of the multinozzle mechanism and control of the substrate with respect to the printing parameters to print different types of electronic devices through Electrostatic Inkjet Printing System. Knowledge of the programming language and machine interface is necessary.</p>
<p><strong>Research Area for MS Studentship Computer Engineer</strong><br />
Strong knowledge of C++ and MFC programming is required. The person will be working on the integration of the systems and real-time control.</p>
<p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong><br />
The main criteria of selection is GPA (must be above 3.0). Beside GPA research proposal, resume and good communication skill in English (TOEFL or IELTS) will be considered.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <strong>POSCO Asia Fellowship</strong> is a scholarship program designed to invite promising Asian graduate students to the Master’s Program at the Graduate School of International Studies(GSIS), Seoul National University(SNU), supporting their studies at one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Korea. The fellowship, offered by the POSCO TJ Park Foundation, covers full tuitions for up to 4 semesters at GSIS-SNU and monthly living stipends for two years in Korea.</p>
<p>A total of 9 fellowships for this year have been awarded to students from Asia. The POSCO Asia Fellowship Foundation has continued to expand the scope of its social contributions and hopes to provide additional Asian countries with more scholarships in the future. For the Master’s program at GSIS SNU AY 2008, Asian universities are invited to recommend students to the Fellowship.</p>
<p>Fellowships are provided to promote mutual understanding between Asian countries and Korea, and to strengthen professional abilities of Asian elite students. Knowledge sharing projects such as the POSCO Asia Fellowship hope to benefit the different societies, economies, and cultures of the world.</p>

The AUN-GIST scholarship covers tuition fee, airfare, accommodation and living allowance.</p>

* Material Science and Engineering<br />
* Environmental Science and Engineering<br />
* Life Science<br />
* Photon Science and Technology</p>
<p><strong>Eligibility:</strong></p>
<p>* Citizen of an ASEAN member country<br />
* Posses a Bachelor’s degree (for M.S. Applicants) and M.S. degree (for Ph.D. applicants)<br />
* Good academic record<br />
* Have a minimum score of 550 (213 CBT) in TOEFL or 6.5 in IELTS, or 750 in TOEIC or 680 in TEPS.<br />
* Have good medical record</p>
<p><strong>Application Documens to be Submitted:</strong></p>
<p>* Application form<br />
* Two sealed letters of recommendation; one of which must be from the Dean of the Department he has attended<br />
* Official diploma in English<br />
* Original undergraduate/graduate transcript of record certified by the University Registrar<br />
* Official TOEFL or IELTS score report taken not more than two years<br />
* Resume or curriculum vitae<br />
* MA thesis (for those applying for Ph.D.)<br />
* Two photographs (4×5 cm)</p>
